Storytelling: A tool for promoting peace and literacy

This highly practical tool describes how storytelling can be used to promote literacy, reconciliation and peacebuilding with community groups. It was developed through participatory workshops with Feed the Minds’ partners in Kenya, Sudan, DRC and Uganda and includes stories told by men and women from countries affected by conflict and those struggling with the stigma associated with disability and AIDS. There is advice on how to create a climate for people to tell their stories and to use them to empower individuals and strengthen community cohesion.
