Pam Rhodes’ Christmas message for Feed the Minds
Nov 20, 2017
We would like to thank Pam Rhodes, the BBC’s Songs of Praise presenter, for her support of Feed the Minds’ carol concert, ‘Gospel Carols by Candlelight’.
Our Gospel Carols by Candlelight concert will be held at St Paul’s Church in Covent Garden on Monday 18th December. This colourful and heart-warming carol concert will have a perfect mix of traditional singalong carols as well as performances by our gospel choir, and tickets include a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.
“It’s shocking to realise that over 750 million adults living in the poorest communities of the world are still not able to read, write or count – a lack of basic education that traps them in poverty and despair. Literacy skills are a toolkit for life, opening doors to understanding, opportunity and potential for families and communities. It’s those gateways to independence and self-worth that compel the charity FEED THE MINDS to work tirelessly to support projects that give the power of education to people of all generations and backgrounds. This work is quite literally the gift of life that lifts barriers, breaks down stigma, encourages confidence and builds bright futures.
“Perhaps you won’t need to read the familiar words of the much-loved carols you can come along and sing at the Feed the Minds’ Carol Concert in Covent Garden on Monday 18th December. The celebration will have an African Twist, so I hope you like dancing too! This year, help Feed the Minds give people around the world a truly life-changing Christmas present – the gift of words!” Pam Rhodes
