Jun 20, 2018

On Wednesday, 13 June 2018, the Norwich Regional Group opened their 49th book fair in support of Feed the Minds. The fair ended on Saturday the 16th, raising an incredible amount of over £1,400 towards our education projects in the Global South.

I was delighted to be able to take part in an event that has always been so important to Feed the Minds. The annual book fair has become a staple occasion in Norwich, garnering consistent support from the whole community. Waltraud Jarrold, the organiser of the event (for 49 years now!) was especially praising of her volunteers.

“Thanks to my group of steady helpers, who are all equally dedicated to this cause, Norfolk as a whole can continue to support Feed the Minds in order to promote peace in some of the most marginalised communities in the world.”

Attending this special event reinforced my belief that without the loyalty and devotion of our supporters and volunteers, our life-changing education projects in the global south would simply not be possible.

The variety of fundraising was especially impressive, with the silent auction raising over £200 alone!

We would also like to say a big thank you to the student helpers from City College Norwich, who kindly offered their help with setting up before and during the event. Again, this wide range of volunteers emphasizes the incredible support garnered across the whole community.

On behalf of all of us at Feed the Minds, thank you to everyone – especially Waltraud Jarrold and all the volunteers – for making this event so special and for your continued support.
